Car tires are not made to last forever and therefore you will need a tire change every now and then. If one of the tires on your vehicle blows out because of wear and tear reasons, expect the other three to follow suit because they are basically the same age. Your tire may also get a puncture or blow out because of incorrect pressure (either too low or too high). For that reason, it is recommended that you have a working spare tire always and know how to do a tire change on your own. However, you do not have to get stressed out if you do not have a spare or you do not know how to change a tire. You can always call Harvey Towing to help you out when you need a tire change.
Portable sealants are usually very helpful at repairing a small tire puncture. However, if you have major damage on your tire for instance what happens when the tire blows out, then you need to change the tire with another one. You will, therefore, need a fully inflated spare tire. Many people forget to check on the condition of their spare tires while others do not have spare tires altogether. It is common to forget to replace a spare tire after a blowout or you might be waiting to get the money for it.
Whatever the case, when you need help with a tire change, Harvey Touring is the company to call. We can help to place the spare tire on your car safely and quickly so you get back on the road. Our roadside assistance vans have everything required to make your spare tire usable if it is not in great condition.

How to change a tire on your own
If you are looking to change a tire on your own here are the steps for you to follow to do it safely and successfully;
- Park your car on a flat surface and put on the emergency brakes. If you got the flat while on the road pull your car over to a place with minimal traffic.
- Remove the hubcap if your car has them to get to the underlying lug nuts that hold the tire to the wheel.
- Loosen the lug nuts one by one but do not remove any of them just yet. You will be required to use a lot of strength as they are usually so tightly screwed on.
- Place a jack under your car on a hard flat surface. Turn the hand crank to raise your jack until it comes into contact with your car. Ensure it is in contact with the hard and flat surface and continue raising the vehicle so that the flat wheel is raised up from the ground.
- Remove the all lug nuts so you can easily remove the tire from the wheel of the car. Place the spare on the wheel and replace the lug nuts. Turn the nuts with your hands until you get resistance.
- Lower the car back to the ground level and then tighten all the nuts as tight as you can be able to. Replace the hubcap and you are good to go.
